Talking with Dan
Why are you here, in this field?
What I do is exciting to me. Helping an organization grow is exciting because I get to be a part of something noble and good.
Companies need to grow to be able to create new opportunities. At the same time people need something to do that gives them a sense of purpose and accomplishment: something to look forward to… something to hope for.
Having held a number of strategic leadership positions in my career, I know how the wrong person in a job/role can destroy a company’s growth and destroy people who work with them.
Art Buchwald is quoted as saying that the best things in life aren’t things. I think Art sums it up quite well. By placing the right candidate within an organization, I help out the client employer and the candidate. But I also positively effect the employee growth downstream of the candidate I helped place.
Why do you think people like working with you?
People like working with me because I get the job done, and I make them money! But, hand in hand with that, most people that get to know me understand that I care for them and their success. I make a conscious effort to try and be sure that those who spend any time with me are better off as a result.
What do you want potential clients to know about you personally?
With me, what you are getting is the real deal. While I am motivated by helping others, I am past trying to be somebody or something I am not. A new client will find me to be hard working, honest, ethical, loyal and discrete. In all things I strive to be professional.
I take my responsibilities to my faith, my wife and family, my work, and my community very seriously. I’m always troubled when I see people who cut corners in these areas - knowing it never works in the long run - you are only hurting yourself and others around you. They are missing out on the richness of life that solid connections in these areas bring.
I have been tested in many areas personally and professionally. This gives me empathy for my client and his or her needs. This also helps to establish a trust between us.
